Webroot Discoverer

Overview

Webroot can be synced with ITBoost to display data about subscriptions, users, and machines in ITBoost. To add Webroot as a discoverer system, complete the steps in the Webroot portal and then in ITBoost.

Set Up Webroot

To set up Webroot: 

  1. Log into your Webroot portal as an admin.
  2. Navigate to Settings > API Access and click New.
  3. Enter a Name and a Description for the ITBoost client.
  4. Click Next.

  5. Save the Client ID and the Client Secret. You need these to complete the integration in ITBoost later.
  6. Navigate to Settings > Account Information and copy the Parent Keycode. This keycode may also be called GSM Console Key.
  7. Navigate to the Admin tab.
  8. Select the user account that you will use to connect to ITBoost. This user must be a GSM Super Admin or GSM Limited Admin.
  9. Make a note of the username and password of the selected admin user.

Set Up ITBoost

Note: You must be an Admin or have Add permissions to add a discoverer system.

After you have accessed the required credentials and set permissions for the integration, complete the setup in ITBoost to start syncing data.

  1. Navigate to Asset Discovery > ADD NEW. A list of available systems displays.
  2. Click Webroot Parent. The ADD Webroot (CLOUD) DISCOVERER SYSTEM window displays.
  3. In the ALIAS field, enter a friendly name for this account.
  4. Enter the PORTAL ADMIN USERNAME and PORTAL ADMIN PASSWORD for the Webroot admin user account.
  5. Enter the Client ID from the Webroot portal in the API KEY (CLIENT ID) field.

  6. Enter the client secret from the Webroot portal in the API KEY(CLIENT SECRET) field.
  7. Enter the parent keycode from the Webroot portal in the GSM CONSOLE (PARENT KEYCODE) field.
  8. Under SCHEDULING, configure how often and when you want the integration to sync to ITBoost.

  9. Click SAVE.
