Mail options

The current configuration of the Mail page includes the following mail delivery options:

  • Send from server directly to the email domain SMTP server: This option will try to utilized the recipient's SMTP server to manage the incoming email request. This model is quick and easy but not always the most reliable.
  • Send from server through an SMTP relay server: If this option is selected, users will need to put in the name or IP address of an SMTP Server that will process the email invitations. When using a relay server, the IP address/Machine Name of the ScreenConnect server must have explicit permission to the SMTP server. Please consult with your SMTP administrator for further information.

Other controls:

  • Default From Address: Enter the from address for emails that are automatically sent out through SMTP selection.
  • Default To Address: The address that all emails will go to by default. Once you have configured your mail options you should send a test email. It is recommended that you send test emails to several addresses both in and outside your domain (if applicable) to ensure your delivery method is fully supported.

Tip: The Default From Address and the Default To Address are the values used in the "To" and "From" fields when creating session event triggers.

For more information on configuring the on-premise version of ScreenConnect with your own SMTP provider, please refer to our advanced mail options article.
